Maksim Zagornov highly appreciated the results of the «Business Russia» mission in the UAE
The business mission of the All Russia public organization «Business Russia» in the United Arab Emirates is completed. The delegation of Russian entrepreneurs, headed by the business ambassador of the organization in the UAE, President of RDPGA Maksim Zagornov, was a great success at the 21st International Exhibition on Water Treatment, Energy Technologies and Environmental Protection WETEX-2019 in Dubai. The united exposition aroused great interest among the participants of the exhibition. Just in three days about 60 meetings and strategic talks with representatives of business and authorities of the UAE took place at the stand of the organization. Detailed agreements were reached to develop joint projects on the territory of the United Arab Emirates.
21st International Exhibition on Water Treatment, Energy Technologies and Environmental Protection WETEX-2019 is one of the most authoritative exhibitions of this profile in the world. It is held under the patronage of the UAE Prime Minister, the Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktum. The exhibition is organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Administration (DEWA). This year the WETEX-2019 united over 2500 exhibitors and 10000 delegates from 50 countries. For the first time in the history of WETEX the Russian Distributed Power Generation Association together with the «Business Russia» presented its stand in the Russian Pavilion.
The delegation included 16 entrepreneurs representing the interests of Russian advanced companies working in the field of distributed power generation, water supply, water disposal, fire safety and ecology. Within the framework of a consolidated stand in the Russian pavilion they presented their innovative developments and technologies, held meetings and strategic negotiations, outlined ways of further cooperation.
The exposition of Russian enterprises aroused great interest among the participants of the exhibition - over 60 meetings with representatives of business and authorities of the UAE took place at the stand «Business Russia». The joint stand was visited by the Vice President of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Yousef Ibrahim Al Akraf, Chairman of the Emirates Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sharjah Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, General Director of Dubai Municipality Hussein Nasser Luta, Director of Investment Division of Dubai Economic Development Department (Dubai Economy) Ibrahim Ahli, Director General of the Emirates Free Economic Zone Administration Fujeira Sharif Habib Mohamed Al Awadhi, representatives of the business community of the United Arab Emirates.
During the meetings the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation, possibilities of creating a joint production on the territory of the UAE, promotion of Russian projects on the Emirates market. Thus, Arab partners expressed great interest in the distributed generation facilities (gas piston mini-CHP), which were presented by the President of the Russian Association of Distributed Power Generation Maksim Zagornov. DEWA representatives highly appreciated the mobility of the power plants (possibility to place an object in close proximity to the consumer), speed of the object's assembly, its environmental friendliness, as well as the possibility to make a hybrid version of the project (additionally equip mini-CHP with solar panels). Arabian partners supported Maksim Zagornov's initiative to create a joint production for power plants' packaging in the UAE and assured of the demand for this product both in the Arab Emirates and in the neighbouring countries (Saudi Arabia, Oman, etc.).
Special interest of business representatives and investors of the UAE was also caused by the Russian project «ICETech» on creation of artificial icebergs, presented within the framework of a consolidated stand. This technology allows to freeze fresh drinking water, create artificial icebergs of 400 x 400 x 200 meters in size and to send them to the regions which are in great need in clear fresh water by means of towage (it is possible to deliver 25 632 000 000 liters of drinking water by one logistic route).
Furthermore, during the presentation of the «Business Russia» stand, the Arab business expressed interest to the renewable energy projects. The UAE is committed to building a green economy. According to the country 's strategy the renewable energy sources should account for 7% of electricity by 2020, 25% - by 2030, 75% - by 2050. The UAE is actively implementing programs on introduction of electric transport, waste processing, energy efficiency improvement of buildings, etc.
«The United Arab Emirates mission, a kind of a «national idea» is to become the state with the lowest carbon footprint on the planet, commented the «Business Russia» Ambassador in the UAE Maksim Zagornov. That is why the Arab Emirates are ready to introduce all most advanced technologies, including the ones from Russia, which allow to implement the principles of sustainable development. The global energy trend is in development of distributed generation, and the United Arab Emirates is at the head of this process. Against the background of a great interest to cooperation with Russia now, I am sure, is the most strategically profitable time to promote Russian projects on the territory of the UAE».
At the end of the exhibition the organizers of WETEX noted that the stand of the «Business Russia» became the most visited among the expositions of the Russian pavilion, attracted attention of the head management of the Emirates organizations, investors, representatives of the international media.
To be noted - the business mission took place immediately after the visit of the Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin to the United Arab Emirates, as well as the meeting of the Russian-Emirates Intergovernmental Commission, following which the proposals of the «Business Russia» were included into the final protocol and taken under control by the governments of both countries.
